Indigo

Description

Indigo is a natural organic pigment of plant origin that has been used since prehistory for dyeing and painting. The chemical pigment of indigo is also found in woad. The pigment we sell is of plant origin (although indigo is most often synthesized). Indigo requires special procedures to use as paint, so be sure and research this before proceeding.

Notes:  Wear gloves and apron as Indigo stains!

General protective measures:  Always wear a dust mask, gloves, apron and eye protection.  Keep away from foodstuffs and drinks. Do not eat, drink or smoke during work. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Do not allow children or pets to contact these art materials.
