Technical Difficulties

A few weeks ago our connection with PayPal dropped out, and we lost the ability to collect payments. We had no notion this was occurring until just this week. As of today thanks to an intensive debugging and backup restoration by Anna and Norm, this problem is resolved for now and we’re accepting orders again. All seems to be going well. If you submitted an order but couldn’t get to the payment stage, and you haven’t yet received an email from us, please go ahead and submit your order again, and it should go through. If there are any problems, please contact us via the contact form or email and we’ll work it out.

We are, like everyone else, a bit worried about the trade wars and other issues we’re facing. But right now we have no intention of raising prices until we have to, but we’re putting off placing new orders – things that are low or out of stock might not be replaced right away. However we think we have a pretty good stock of pigments and supplies and tools for now and we’re confident we can serve you well.

In the longer term, we are going to be reducing activities during the second half of the summer because we’ll be away, so if you have something in mind, now is a good time to order. We’ll keep you posted. As always feel free to reach out with questions.

Thanks for your support!

Southwest Expedition

We are on a trip to the desert Southwest through Memorial Day! We will ship any orders we receive until then in the first week of June. Thanks for your patience!

But things have been busy at Ancient Earth Pigments. We have new products coming on, including the Four In One Design Toolkit, and some new pigments to be announced soon. And we’ve been out in the field: here is a paint-along video for you to enjoy from a session along the California coast near Point Conception.

Also, Linda is going to have a show of recent paintings at Gallery 113 in Santa Barbara for the month of August. Come on down and see some of Linda’s original works! The reception will be First Thursday, 5-7 PM, at Gallery 113, 1114 State Street #8, Santa Barbara.

Finally, Linda and Atelier Nelson will be hosting the renowned landscape artist Calvin Liang for a workshop in Santa Barbara, September 20th through the 23rd. The workshop will include plein air and in-studio work, personalized instruction, and the gorgeous Santa Barbara landscape. More information is here. Reserve your space in the workshop today!

New Product for 2023: Four-In-One Design Toolkit

We ran across this toolkit in use by another artist and were immediately taken with its utility and ease of use, and we’re delighted to be able to offer them to you now. In the field or in the studio, you can keep this set of cards close at hand with the convenient detachable lanyard; to check values, colors, and perspective. With these tools you can check alignment and perspective, set values, and find colors and their complements, instantly. Plus the lanyard has finely-resolved (1 mm and 1/16″) markings for precise measurements. They also make fine gifts for the artists in your life!

Stay tuned for more new product announcements! We have some more exciting things coming up this year.
