Ercolano Orange

Bright pure semi-transparent warm orange color; a modern azo organic pigment fixed on a mineral base, made in Italy. Considered a “primary”color because it cannot successfully be produced by mixing other pigments together.

It is an excellent nontoxic alternative to some cadmium colors.

This pigment has good tinting strength,  is lightfast, good in gypsum and clay plasters, but not in lime or cement. Tester E.C. says, “It was easy to mix into all mediums, unlike the other bright colors.”
